AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
[By Telegraph.] (Per s s. Zealandiu at Auckland.) NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, Dec. 2. Bombardier Boys, of the Permanent force stationed at Signal Hill, was terribly burnt about his face, head, and left arm by an explosion of powder. He had been amusing himself by laying down a train of powder, which by some means-ignited, blowing him up as he was standing over it, and scorching the hair off his bead and face.
A publican named .Fred Hanker shot first his wife and then himself. His house is a mile out of town. The police took charge of the place immediately.
