MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Wednesday, Dec 1. For Australian Colonies per Rotomahana, at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. For Northern Ports of New Zealand per Te Anau, at (5 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Taiaroa, at 2.50 p.m. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, America, West Indies, China and Japan, via San Francisco, and the Sandwich Islands, as follows: — Ordinary letters at 2.30 p.m. Late fee letters at the Chief Post Office till 2.50 p.m., and at the Railway travelling Post Office mail van (Noithern Express train) till 3.20.
