Hellcan, and Ernest Charters were charged on remand with throwing stones at a train while in motion. This case had been adjourned until this morning for flic production of further evidence, the boys having ail denied throwing the stones. The boys still denied the charge, and Charters’ father again asserted that his boy was at home when the train passed the cutting where the stones were thrown. In reply to his orship, the bo}’ Hellcan now confessed that lie was one of the stone-throwers, and stated that the others were also present and threw stones. His Worship said it was plain that one of the boys must be telling a falsehood. In the absence of suflicient evidence to the contrary, he must consider them guilty. This was really a case where the parents themselves ought to punish their children. He should order that the boys be imprisoned until that afternoon. The Court then adjourned.
