GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The annual general meeting of the above took place to-day for the election of chairman and other business. Present —Mr C. G. Tripp, and Messrs Cl nice, Hardcastle, Gray, Mendelson, Scaly, and Acton. Mr Tripp, in retiring from the Council chair, congratulated the members on the harmonious manner in which they had been working together during the past year and upon the satisfactory way in which the business of the Council had been conducted. Ho was happy to say that the Council had at the present time £4OOO standing to its credit. On the motion of Mr Mendelson, seconded by Mr Sealy, both expressing themselves pleased with Mr Tripp’s energy and efficiency as chairman, he was unanimously re-elected to that position for the ensuing twelve months, several other members concurring with the remarks of Messrs Mendelson aud Sealy. Mr Tripp briefly thanked the meeting for the compliment it had paid him by re-electing bim, and said he took a real pleasure in the work of the Council, and would always do bis best to further its interests, T 1 le ordinary business was then proceeded with. HOSPITAL RETURN. The Secretary to the Hospital Commissioners wrote forwarding u return for the past twelve months showing the number of patients admitted for the year ending Oct. 31 to be 278 ; the proportion of those who had paid for their treatment, 37 ; and the amount so realised £144 9s fid, which amount had been paid to the public account. HOG COLLARS. It was resolved that tenders be called for 300 dog collars and alterations to labels of i|bont 300 others. AH.IoURN.MKNT, The Council then adjourned to Dec. 9.
