S. C. Times Office. Monday Evening. Messrs Wildie, Allan, and Stumbles report business during the past fortnight, in all classes of live stock, except horses, to have been very brisk. Fat cattle are plentiful at about last quotations. They sold privately 16 head prime bullocks at £'.) 10s ; 11 head do, at £8 15s, and !) do do, at £B. Sheep—Stores of all kinds are in very active demand. They effected the sale of 2000 cross-bred hoggets at owner’s reserve, and 572 cross-bred ewes at 6s Od. In fat sheep they sold 157 cross-brcds, in the wool, at 14s lid, and 200 shorn cross-bred wethers at 10s. Cattle—ln store cattle they have done considerable business. The following is a list of their sales:—4l head mixed cattle at £3 17s (id; 14 cows at £7 10s ; 2 cows at £0 5s ; 5 heifers, springing, at £6 ; 62 head mixed cattle at £6 ss. At the Wash-, dyke on Thursday they held a very successful sale. The following are the sales effected, viz. : —(i yearlings at £6 15s; 1 cow, £6 ; 1 calf, 65s ; 8 yearling heifers at £6 5s ; 1 cow, £7 15s ; 6 heifers at £5; 12 steers, two years, at £6; 20 steers and heifers, from £2 18s to £6 15s; 21 steers and heifers, twelve moths to two years old, from £2 15s to £4 6s; 7 bullocks, nearly fat, at £8; and 1 light harness mare for £2O. .Sheepskins, Ac. —At their regular sale on Wednesday last they sold all catalogued, viz., 750 skins and four bales wool. Heavy cross-bred skins at 5s Id, 5s sd, and 6s 4d; lamb skins. 5d to (id ; heavy merino skins, 4s Hi, 4s lOd, and 5s sd. The wool was of a very mixed character and brought Sd and B§d to Bjfd. Horses —The horse market is.extremely quiet. They quote staunch, heavy draughts from £65 to £42 ; medium do, £26 to £62 ; light do, from £ls to £2O; hacks and light harness horses, from £7 to £25. Farm Produce —They have sold 60 sacks bailey, at 2s 6d per bushel; 70 sacks chicken corn, at 5s (id per sack ; four tons potatoes at £1 10s; 1 sow, nearly fat, £4 2s 6d ; 0 pigs (weaners), at 11s each. Mr Moss Jonas reports for the week ending Nov. 20, as follows : Dorses —Sales during the week have been limited, in consequence of draughts of the right stamp not offering. Cattle —A slight downward tendency in the market is exhibited; .Shccqi—Good merino wethers off the shears are readily placed at owners' prices; sales have been made at from Is (id to 5s 6d. Pigs—lint few arc offering ; all submitted have raliscd good figures. Wheat—Good hard milling sorts are enquired for, and small paicels have been quitted at from 6s lOd to Is. Fowls’ Corn —ls 6d to 2s 6d per bushel according to quality. Flour—£2 10s to £lO 10s for standard brands. Potatoes—2s (id to 6s per sack. Property Sale. — He sold on Monday last two allotments at Wallingford, with a fiveroomed cottage, for £4OO to Mr George Geddes. Messrs William Collins and Co. report holding their weekly market and salt? by auction on Saturday of farm produce and general merchandise. The attendance was large and competition spirited for the different lines submitted to the hammer. The quote guaranteed flour, £lO per ton; farmers' dour (with all faults), £6 10s per ton ; bran 70s, and sharps 75s per ton ; fowl wheat, 5s to (is per sack; feed oats, Is to is 2d per bushel (bags extra); rye grass seed, 2s per bushel; cheese, 5d per lb ; butter, id per lb ; honey, 4d per lb : bacon 7d to Hd per lb ; hams !)d per lb : fowls ;!s (id to 4s (id per pair; pigeons, (is per dozen ; No 1 Company's sugar, 44 per lb ; No 6 do, 4d per lb ; Duxes tea, 16s to 18s cadi; soap, 7s per box ; salmon Hs (id per dozen ; fresh herrings, 7s per dozen ; furniture, ironmongery, tins, china, and glass-ware, and a large quantity of oddments were moved off during the day at consignors’ reserves.
