WAIMATE—YESTERDAY. (Before It. Beetham Esq., R.M., W. ,J, Steward, Esq., J.P., and the Mayor.) CIVIL CASKS. Green v Flaherty, claim T 25, for damages sustained to laud by defendant’s carting away material for a road contract. Mr Hawkins appeared for the plaintiff and Mr Clement for the defendant. Order for £ll. Amount paid into Court. Waimate Borough Council v Gibbs,
claim £1 lls Bd, cost of removing a nuisance.
The Town Clerk failing to produce authority to sue, -plaintiffs were nonsuited.
In the following cases judgment was given by default: —“Waimate Times” v. Connell, claim £1 4s; Manchester and Co. v Webb, claim £8 Is Od ; Waimate Borough Council v. Wilson, claim £1 11s 8d ; Manchester and Co. v. Curam, judgment summons for £.‘s lbs Id—an order was made that the defendant pay 10s per week until the claim be paid ; in default of payment, 14 days’ imprisonment.
