RECEIPTS OF THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.

The A ustraliau cricketers, on their return home, says the “ Homo News ” will take with them a large sum of money. During the contest between the Australian cricketers and a North of England Eleven at Bradford, the amount of money taken at the gate was £293 on ,'fche first day, £336 on the second, and £BS on the third. Out of this £714 the Colonials took exactly one half, the remainder being left for the payment of the English players and the expenses entailed upon the local committee in organising the match. The Australians obtained still greater profit out of the Nottingham encounter, concluded on Sept. 25 ; but even this was exceeded b} - the payment which the manager of the Crystal Palace arranged to give them for the match lately played in the Palace grounds. They received no less than £750, while the English pro? fessionals engaged to oppose them had £2O each. They received £ISOO for the match at Kennington Oval at the beginning of September, and when it is considered that they have been playing every week, and all the week, for the last live months in various parts of the country, the total must amount to something very considerable.
