NORTH OTAGO AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL SHOW.
[By Teleguatti.] Oam Aim, Nov. 18. The Show was a groat success. The weather was splendid, and the entries, although not so numerous as last year, were of good quality, and compensated foi the falling off in numbers. Ayrshire cattle and thoroughbred stock were not so numerous, but sheep showed an increase, and in the latter class there was keen competition. The following were the winners of the various cups : Thoroughbred Horses--CL Dodson, Dunedin. Aryshire Cattle —James Gcmmell, Oamaru, Merino Sheep—A. McMaster. Leicester Sheep—H. E. and J. E. Parker. Lincoln Sheep—P. H. Russell. Dairy Produce—Mrs J. P>. Taj lor. Agricultural Implements—Reid and Gray. Grain (growers)—N. Lane. Grain (dealers) —J. and T. Aleck. Seeds —Connell and Clowes. Gold Medal for Poultry—Jas. Mitchell. THIS DAY. [llV OUR SPECIAL REPORTER.] Complaints are made about the smallness of the Show ground. The total number of exhibits are over three hundred loss than last year. The great features of the show arc the draught horses and the Lincoln sheep. Meulove shows a good many draughts C. H. Russell shows some grand Lincolns, and this class attracts great attention. There is a nice little show of implements. Reid and Gray are the chief exhibitors. Menlovc’s bull Christmas Knight is a splendid animal, and took lirst prize. The show of live stock is not nearly so good as that at Timaru. Only three pigs were entered. There is a good show of grain and seeds, and also Kaipoi tweeds, and a very fair show of poultry. The attendance is very large. The prizes given by the association consist exclusively of medals, plate and cups.
