The ’Frisco mail is expected to arrive in Timaru to-morrow. Consumers of sirloins, ribs, briskets, and quarters will observe with pleasure that the leading butchers of Timaru announced in our advertising columns a material reduction in the juice of meat. This announcement will probably tend to counteract the angling operations on the Breakwater, especially as cod-fish just now are out of season. Dr Wilkins, aurist and oculist, of Christchurch, arrived to-day in Timaru, and may be consulted at the Grosvenor Hotel. ■ Owing to other engagements he will not be able to extend his present visit beyond Friday afternoon, so that sufferers who wish to place themselves under his treatment will do well to see him at once Persons suffering from partial or total deafness are reminded that in this instance they have the opportunity of placing themselves under the skill of a duly qualified medical man, who has made the treatment of eye and car diseas a life study. Dr Wilkin’s skill in eye affections is acknowledged all over the Australian colonics. Not only is he a proved expert in cases of accident and disease, but his success in removing such deformities as squint for instance, has been demonstrated in hundreds of cases. His contiibutions to the medical literature of the colonies shew that he has made the practice of his profession a source of painstaking study, and this alone is a guarantee that this gentleman is something more than an ordinary specialist.
