(iiiaxi) stand HANin< Ai*; on • mile. Billingsgate (Nolan) 1 Natator (Derntt) 2 Betrayer (Wattic) 3 Natator led till nearly home. Billingsgate then came away and won easily. Time —Imin 44sccs. THIS DAY. The Metropolitan Race Meeting was resumed to-day. The weather is line, but there is a cold wind. _ The attendance is good. There are six events on the card, and the totalisators arc being extensively patronised. The following events were run : CiinisTt nuKCii Plate, U miles and a distance. Lc Loup (Wattie) 2 Foul Play (Derritt) 2 Governor (Webster) 3 On Uit and Lure were scratched. Betting—3 to 1 on Lc Loup. Foul Play and The Governor made the running close together for a mile.. The Governor then dropped hack between, and Lc Loup went up and collared Foul Play in the straight, and won easily by three lengths. Time —3mins 3 j’secs. METRO I’OLIT AN HANDICAP, U miles. Natator (Derritt) 1 Sir Modred ... ... (Rndings) 2 Luna ... ... ... (Webster) Betrayer, Volunteer, Norseman. Sir George, Hilarious, Adamant, Atlantic, and Kosciusko also ran. Betting—o to lon Sir Modred, Ito 1 Natator, it to 1 Betrayer. the rest in a cluster. At the top of the course Luna made the running at a hot pace, Sir Modred dropping hack to fourth place,and Sir George being second, and Atlantic third. Luna led into the straight, where Sir Modred came up again, followed by Natator. Nearing (he rails Luna was beat, Natator cominghomo lirst by two lengths. Sir Modred second, and Luna good third. Time—2min 41-(secs. SPRING NURSERY HANDICAP, 4 furlongs. AraulctJ,,, ... (Nolan) 1 Hiucmoa ... ... (Wattie) 2 Nonpareil ... ... (Clark) 3 Flap Jack also ran. Betting—2 to I on Hiucmoa, d to 2 agst Amulet, 4 to 1 the others. Amulet and Hineinoa jumped off together. Nonpareil third. The lirst two kept together until half up the straight, when Amulet came away and won .rather easily by two lengths. Nonpareil a good third. Time— 52.1 secs. selling plate handicap, 0 furlongs. Lara (Higgott) 1 Laertes (Hickton) 2 Tera (Cornelius) 3 Hilda and Levant also ran. Betting—2 to lon the field. Laertes was the favorite. Tera and Lara jumped off with the lead, but The joker, at a tremendous pace, soon passed them, and held a long load till entering the straight, when lie was completely shut up, and Lara, followed by Tera, came to the limit, the former winning by a length, and Laertes heating Tera inside the rails for second place. Time—lmin lOsecs. PLYING HANDICAP, 0 furlongs. Luna (Nolans) 1 Natator (Derritt) 2 Mischief (Webster) 3 Time—lmiu. lessees.
