MINING PROSPERITY.

From April 1,1857, to September 30, 1860, the quantity of gold entered for duty for exportation from New Zealand was 9,467,498 ozs, valued at £37,089,248. Of this quantity Auckland produced 1,280,285 ozs, valued at £4,695,588; Wellington, 30 ozs, valued at £120; Marlborough, 47,247 ozs, valued at £183,176; Nelson, 1,625,464 ozs, ozs . valued at £6,453,552 ; 2,525,560 ozs., valued at £10,008,219; and Otago, 3,988,912 ozs., valued at £15,698,592. The comparative returns of gold entered for duty for exportation for the quarters ending Sept. 30, 1880, and Sept. 30, 1879, show an increase oi 8170 ozs. over the corresponding quarter of last year.
