LEVELS ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of this Board was held to-day. The correspondence consisted of letters from the Town Clerk, Timaru, rc roads that would be interfered with by water supply works ; also rc sanitary matters. Besolved to reply that Board cannot contribute for supervision referred to. In accordance with a request from Mr W. M, Sims it was decided to form and drain Wellington and Napier streets. A petition rc Landsborongh road was referred to the Overseer. An application from W. Hood and others for extension of time was granted. _An application rc Cabman’s forfeited deposit was not entertained. Several road works were agreed to. Attention having been called to the dismissal of Inspector Pender the Board decided to request the Minister of Justice to reconsider the matter. It was decided to take legal proceedings against defaulting gorsc, cultivators. The following tenders were accepted : —Contract No. 28-P. Tozer, £43 7s Gd ; No. 29—C. Flynn, £SO 15s ; No. 30 —C. Flynn, £55 13s 4d ; No. 31—J. J. Connor, £73 2s 6d.
