MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Thursday, Oct. 7. For Northern Ports of New Zealand per Arawata, at 6 a m. Saturday, Oct. 9. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 2.50 a.m. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, America, West Indies, China and Japan, via San Francisco, and the Sandwich Islands, as follows: Ordinary letters at 2 p.m. Money orders, registered letters and newspapers, at 1 p.m. Late fee letters at the Chief Post Office till 2.30 p.m., and at the Railway travelling Post Office mail van (Northern Express train) till 3.20. The European portion of the above mails will be due in London on Nov. 23, 1880. Friday, Oct. 15. For Australian Colonies, per Rotorua, at 4 p.m. It is hereby notified for general information that the Post office formerly known as Waimate Junction, has beccn changed to Studholmc Junction.
