S. C. Times Office. Monday Evening. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the week ending 2nd inst.: Horses.—We have made no sales of importance in draught stock, and prices are much the same as when we last reported. At the close of the Horse Parade on Saturday, we held our usual sale of entires. Out of ten offered we succeeded in placing two, Renfrew Jock and Prince of Denmark, the former being sold to a company of Geraldine farmers, and the latter to a Temuka farmer. Fat sheep—We sold GOO crossbred store wethers at equal to 2d per lb. Messrs William Collins and Co. report holding their regular market and sale by auction on Saturday of produce, fruit, and general merchandise. The attendance was large, but buyers and ready money seemed to be a very scarce article with a great portion of the audience, and as a consequence prices did not rule very high for most of the lines sold. They quote potatoes 30s per ton ; onions they cleared the rooms at ■ls (id per cwt ; Hour (all faults), .-£7 per ton; guaranteed, £9; bran, 50s; sharps, 70s; feed oats, Is per bushel; fowls’ wheat, 4s (id per sack; barley, no demand; butter, (id per lb: hams and bacon, inferior, 5d to (id per lb; carcases pork, 4ldto 5d ; honey, 4|d per lb in jars; fowls, 4s to 4s (id per pair; Hobart Town apples, in bad condition, Os to 10s Gd per case ; oranges, 12s (id per case; jams, Os (id per dozen; tea in boxes, Kis; loaf-sugar, 47s per cwt; No. 3 Co., 41s per cwt; soap, 15s per cwt. They also quitted during the day a large quantity of furniture, boots, drapery, and oddments at owners’ instructions. SHARE MARKET. For shares the current market quotations are ;—Ranks —Now Zealand, 21s ; National, GOs ; Colonial, 47s ; Loan and Mercantile Agency, l()ls.
