TEMUKA RACES. ♦ [By TELEGRAPH.] [iiY OCU SPECIAL P.KPOUTKIt.] Tkmuka Tin's Day. The annual race meeting took place on the course to-day under most unfavorable circumstances. The weather was dull, with a drizzling rain at times, the course was soft and slippery, the attendance was not veiy numerous, and even the most enthusiastic of the local sportsmen looked blue and uncomfortable. The course was in Paterson’s paddock, about a mile and a half from the township. At the most not more three hundred spectators patronised the grounds. There was a totalizator, hut hardly any betting. Hint dee Rack Handicap,of 30 sovs, 2 miles. Mr G. 11. Thompson’s g g Lonchand, aged, 12st Tibs .. (Hedge) 1 Clarence was scratched. This was an exceedingly tame race, and was won without any eifort. Maiden Plate, of 20 sovs, II miles. Mr W. De Eenzic’s b h Uuntington.oyrs Ost dibs .. .. (Domuth) 1 Mr G. H. Thompson’s c h Zebra, aged Ost bibs .. .. .. .. 2 The others were scratched.
