Nearing the winning post, Lnbra passed to the front, ami landed an easy winner amidst tremendous cheers from Mr Kennedy’s friends, who seemed right glad that the well-known local horse should pull off the plate, and the winner of the Canterbury Derby was decorated with the blue ribbon of the turf in honor oibis victory. It must not be forgotten, however, that Tom Tit was carrying a stone overweight. Consolation Stakes Handicap, a sweepstakes of 1 sov each, with 10 sovs added ; the sweep to go to the second horse ; distance, 1 mile.
