News has been received from Cape Town that 1200 Basiltos attacked the Cape Rifles, which are operating against them, and killed an officer and two men. The Rifles, however, inflicted a heavy loss on the Basntos. The latest news from the Cape states that Tamhookier, a powerful chief, has joined the Basntos against the British. Sept. 23. Six hundred volunteers arc embarking for Cape Town. Trance and Germany. Berlin, Sept. 21. The Emperor of Germany is slightly indisposed. The crisis in Franco is causing a folding of disquietude in Germany. Paris, Sept 23. Bartolemy Hilarc has been appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs. Biots in Canton. Pekin, Sept. 23. Serious riots have taken place at Canton. The Catholic mission station was attacked, and several persons were injured.
