COLLISION AT SEA.

SECOND EDITION

The Australian liner Hydaspes, when off Dover on July 17, was run into by the steamer Centurion. The Hydaspes had 40 passengers and a crow numbering 25, and a general cargo, The collision occurred during a dense fog. The Hydaspes was struck amidship, and in ten minutes the dock blew up, and she went down. The passengers and crew were taken by the steamer to Dover. They lost everything; some ladies landed without jacket or bonnet, but all were uninjured except one young lady, who had hurt her hand. The captain, crew and passengers of the Hydaspes behaved admirabty.
