GOLD MINING AT THE CAPE.
[By Teekouaimi.] Cate Towx, Aug. 17. There is considerable speculation in claims in Griquahmd West, where one claim and a quarter of the Kimberley mine lias just changed hands for twelve thousand pounds. Prospecting is going on in all directions. Plenty of new rushes are reported. Farms in Griquahmd West and neighboring divisions of the free State arc assessed in the market at fabulous prices, causing suspicious as to the bona fidcs. At the diamond field a European who was wrongly sentenced has been released, but his goods were sold by the sheriff.
