[By TeuivOrarh.] Auckland, Sept. 14. Mr Garrick, Attorney-General, who figured in the Divorce Court lately, lias retired. The Hon Mr Poland has been appointed Acting Attorney-General. He was editor of the “ Fiji Times ” and “ Samoa News.” A fresh civil war lias commenced, oils on the point of commencing, in Samoa. The King’s party have taken advantage of the absence in Savatee of a large number of those formerly opposed to them, to destroy all the coast villages to the westward of Apia. They have also made prisoners of some of the chief members of the former Government. The entente cordiale so lately established between the two parties, and the accomplishment of which was so loudly vaunted, appears to have been dissolved almost immediately, on sonic unintelligible question of native equity.
