CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
The adjourned annual meeting of the above was held this afternoon, Capt. J. H. Sutter in the chair.
Considerable discussion ensued as to the legality of the recent appointment of President and Vice-President, rule 5 not having been complied with. Mr Woolleombe moved a resolution to the effect that as the list notifying the appointments of Chairman, ViceChairman, Auditors, and Committee, had not been posted in accordance with Rule 5, the appointment to bo declared void. The motion was seconded and carried by 8 to 3. It was then moved by Mr Roberts, seconded by Mr Zioslor, and carried, that the committee appointed to revise the rules adopt the Dunedin rules as far as possible, and report at an adjourned meeting of the Chamber on September 21. Mr Tate read the following notice of motion; —“ That the present rules be rescinded, and the rules as drawn up by the sub-committee be adopted.” The election of two members was then proceeded with and the meeting adjourned to Sept. 14.
