Loons, of Otr.io, platelayer, was charged with committing wilful and corrupt perjury, on Aug. 12, in a certain civil case hoard at the AVaimate Court, before Mr Beotham. Mr Jameson appeared to prosecute, and Mr A. Perry appeared for the accused, and stated that as he had only been retained half an hour previously, he would have to ask for a remand. John Waugh was charged with having a spring cart in his possession without his name and address being painted on it, as required by the byelaws.. The accused pleaded guilty to (he charge, but stated that he bad only just purchased a business in Timaru, and had not had time to get his name painted on the cart. air Perry, who appeared for the Borough Council, stated that as this was the first case under the by-laws he would not press for a heavy penally.

Janies Itowoy for neglecting to have his name and address painted on his cart was fined Is.

Uix cases of infringement of the byelaws, were adjourned until Monday next, owing to Mr ITamcrsloy who had been retained by the defendants, being away at Dunedin. The Court thou adjourned.
