TIMARU FARMERS CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION.
An adjourned meeting of the above Avas held this afternoon at the Oroovenor Hotel. Mr Goodwyn avus A'oted to the chair. The report of the sub-committee was read. It recommended that the association be formed into a joint stock company, and that its advantages be open to all. * Mr Bradshaw dissented fsom the recommendation, and suggested that the movement should be confined exclusively to farmers.
Two other members of the sub-com-mittee also expressed their dissatisfaction with the report. After some'discussion, it was proposed that the report of the sub-committee he adopted. Mr Bradshaw proposed a, resolution to the effect that instead of a limited liability company, a farmers’ co-operative association be formed, to be confined exclusively to farmers.
Mr Bradshaw’s resolution was declared carried.
The following Committee avus then appointed to deal further Avith the matter : —Messrs Cooper,Postlethwaite, Buckle, Page, Lovegrovo, Bourne, Kelland, Bradshaw, Talbot, and GoodAvyn, Avith power to add to their number. The Committee arranged to meet at 2 o’clock on Saturday next, and the meeting then terminated.
