[Pee “Times” Special Wire.] Supposed Xioss of a Schooner. Christchurch, August 20.' Constable Mill from Kaikoura reports here that during the gale of Friday last the schooner Southern Queen when loading with limestone at Amuri Bluff dragged her anchor, struck on a rock, and then rounded a reef. Several men mounted the hillside to look for the vessel, but she was not to be seen anywhere. Captain Shepherd and one man were on board. The Kyeburn IMCurder Trial. Dunedix, August 26. The trial of the Kyeburn murder case commenced at Naseby to-day, before Mr Robinson, R.M., and a full bench. Fresh informations were laid, Lee Guy being charged with the murder, and Ah Lee with aiding and abetting. Commissioncr Weldon prosecuted, and Mr Rowlett defended the accused. Tootball-Canterbury v. Otago. In the Interprovincial Football Match Otago will be represented by Austin, Cutten, Gibb, Jewett, Mallard, Mills, McKinnon," Forwards, Dixon, Hammerton, Murray, McLean, Rose, (capt.) and Backs.
