COMMERCIAL.
MELBOURNE PRODUCE MARKET. Under date August 11, Messrs J. H. Clough and Co. repoit:— The market is slow, and very little business is being done, and there is a tendency towards still further reductions. We quote— Flour—Small parcels are moving off for trade purposes at about £!), although a lower figure than this has been accepted. Wheat remains about the same as last quoted. Sales of prime have been effected at from 4s 3d to 4s 31d, medium to good, 3s lOd, to 4s lid, with an easier tendency. Barley remains at our last quotations, and only a very moderate business can be reported. Oats are by no means so firm ; fair feeding may now be quoted at from Is lOd to 2s, milling are also easier. LONDON WOOL SALES. Aug. 21. At the wool sales to-day, 10,700 bales were offered, making a total of, 48,500 bales catalogued since the opening. The tone of the sale was animated. Cross-hreds were to Id lower than last sales.
