TLMAItU—THIS DAY. (Before R. Bcctham, Esq., ID AT.) A I.LEG KD KM JSEZZ IVI- M EXT. John Blair was charged willi embezzling the sum of £5 los Id, the monies of the Government, on July 3 last. The accused was undefended.
Mr White appeared to prosecute on behalf of the railway department, and asked for a short remand, as the accused only arrived from Wellington last night and ho (Mr White) was consequently not prepared to proceed with the case as yot.
The accused was remanded until Monday next, August IG. UXItEOISTEItED DOCS. William Walker, Phillip Stratford, Andrew Davidson, and Walter Townsend were charged, on the information of Mr Edwin Henry Lough, Begistrar of Dogs for the Borough of Timaru, with having unregistered dogs in their possession. Mr Arthur Perry appeared to prosecute for the Borough Council. A Hue of 20s was imposed in each case. Two other cases of a similar nature were dismissed. The Court then adjourned.
