CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
An ordinary mooting of the above took place this afternoon. Present — Messrs F. Archer (Chairman), Evans, Rutherford, Woollcombe, Scaly, and Roberts. Some TminipoiVa.vi.t correspondence having been read, MrEvans stated that he had heard on good authority that nothing was going to be done this session with respect to the building of the new railway station, nor the completion of the Albnry line. Something ought really to be done in this matter. He would move that a deputation consisting- of Messrs Moody, Sutter, and Rutherford bo appointed to proceed to "Wellington, with the object of urging the Government to place money on the estimates this session to complete the railway station and sidings, aud also to call for tenders to complete the railway line from Albury to Fairlie Creek -with as little delay as possible. The motion was seconded by Mr Sealy and carried. The annual meeting of the Chamber was fixed for August 24, and after some routine business the meeting adjourned.
