[Pise “Times” Special Wire.) Fatal Railway Accident Auckland, August 13. Duncan Livingstone, the man who was injured by a train at Papakuri railway station is dead. A Severe Flogging The convict Curnow, sentenced to 50 lashes at the assizes, underwent 25. The flogging administered was very severe and the man had to be assisted to the gaol hospital afterwards. Fatal Accident. Christchurch, August 13. This morning a man named James Pridcaux was found dead in the gravingdock at Lyttelton. He had been drinking- for some days, and had evidently dimed over the fence in Governor’s Bay road and fallen over the cliff into the dock, breaking his neck. Alleged Sticking XJp. Thomas Daly was received at the hospital to-day with a broken leg. He asserts that he was stuck up by a man at Rakaia, and in jumping off Ids dray to defend himself he fell under the wheel, and the man made off. Another Gold Tax. Dunedin, August 13.
