THEATRE ROYAL.

Miss Clara Stephenson’s benefit took place last evening, when the drama of “ Lady Audley’s Secret ” was repeated, with the same cast as on tire previous occasion. The burlesque was a success, especially the new scenery painted by Mr Williams, which was generally admired. Miss Clara Stephenson sustained the part of “ Ixion,” but hardly seemed at home in the character. Miss Lizzie Morgan made a charming Juno, and Miss Lizzie Lawrence gained welldeserved approbation as Venus. Miss Amy Johns as Cupid sang and danced with her usual grace and vivacity. Mr Hcrbcrte as Ganymede (with a rollicking Irish brogue) created roars of laughter. Mr Wilkinson’s Minerva was equally mirth provoking, and his make-up for the part was exceptionally good. Mr M. Alexander made a very imposing Jupiter, and Mr It. Love created some amusement in his character oi Mercury (the Celestial telegraph boy). The piece abounds in puns of the most atrocious and therefore amusing kind. The various songs and dances with which it is interspersed were all well received.

The Company appear for the last time this evening, when the sensational drama, “ Eetribution, or the Last of the Kellys,” and the burlesque of “Aladdin, or the Wonderful Scamp,” will be produced.
