S.C. JOCKEY CLUB.
A meeting of' the Committee of the S.C. Jockey Club was held last evening in the Grosvenor Hotel. Present — Messrs llaniorslcy (in the chair), J. Mciklc, D. Maclean, T. Hall, M. Jonas, H. G. Kerr, and the Hon. Secretary,Mr J. 1!. Stansell. The following gentlemen were elected members of the Club : Messrs Clulee, P. Hell, A. Jamieson, and J. McHeth. The correspondence included an application from Mr J.evien for remission of: gate charges, which was referred to the purchasers of the gates. Air Sydney James, Secretary of the Dunedin Jockey Club wrote, suggesting the appointment of a handicapper for the colony. It was resolved to cooperate with other Clubs in this direction. In reply to a proposal by the JYapicr Jockey Club, it was decided to intimate that the South Canterbury Jockey Club docs not see its way to joining in the publication of a Hew Zealand Turf Register. The following new members were proposed . —Messrs A. E. Cox, T. Teschcmaker, E. Richardson, junr., J. 11. Wiglcy. John Rutherford, Armitagc, Eishcr, and AY. S. Lindsay.
