TIMAEU—THIS DAY. (Before His Honor Judge Ward). CIVIL CASES. Creditors’ Trustee in bankrupt estate of W. Allan v. King—Claim £l3l, for detenue of goods and special damages, Messrs Jamieson and Hamersley appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Perry for defandant. Judgment was given in this case (which occupied the Court during a considerable portion of yesterday) this morning for the plaintiff for £B7. IN BANKRUPTCY. He John David llogers, a debtor. Mr Tosswill applied for an order of discharge. Mr White appeared to oppose the application. J. D. llogers, the debtor, slated that he filed on April 1, and disposed of his butchery business in January. The proceeds he paid away. His liabilities at this time were £3OOO. Made a transfer of his interest in certain land to Garforth, a Christchurch butcher, about ten months before filing. The transfer was to secure the sum of £306. At the time disposed of business had about £I3OO in book debts, 40 acres of oats, and horses and cattle to the value of £2OO. Between the time of selling the business and filing, paid away to Ford and Co. £400; to Guinness, £2OO ; J Mcßeth £181; Jonas £IOO, and another a sum of £3OO. Was never offered £SOO for any interest in 100 acres of land by Mr Meikle, If such an offer was made it was only in jest. Had tested the offer. 1 Between time of selling out and time of filing was doing nothing with the exception of endeavoring to get in outstanding accounts with which to pay off liabilities. Have not been engaged with any contracts since April. Have done no work. Gave up the whole of the property to the trustees. George Stumbles deposed to the bankruptcy and being indebted to his firm to the extent of £3lO for which they had received 100 acres of land as security. His Honor reserved his decision until August 11. The Court then adjourned to that day.
