[IvEUXEII’s AtIEXCr.J The Afg-han Disaster. Conflicting Reports. Lon dux, July 2 ( J. It is reported from Afghanistan that in consequence of the hostile attitude of Yakoub Ivhan’s adherents at Ghuznce the evacuation of Cabul by the British troops will probably now be deferred. The disaster to the British troops in Caudahar has caused a great sensation hero, and it is stated that at a Cabinet Council held yesterday, it was decided to despatch further troops to India as reinforcements for Afghanistan.
Calcutta, July 29. This evening were received furlhei details of tlie engagement between Ya toub’s army and General Burrows' brigade in Candahar, which prove tha' the first accounts of the disaster wen greatly exaggerated. General Burrow; and the chieE otlicers oE his force reached the citadel o£ Candahar in safety. JY details have yet been received as to the extent oE the loss sustained by the British troops.
