Stout and Joynt appeared for the appellant, and Harper and Hamersfey for respondent. After hearing argument, his Honor deferred his decision till lie had consulted with his brother judges, as there was more difficulty 7 in the matter than at lirst appeared. Suicide cf a Chinaman. Dunedin, July 27. On the Bcautifr.l Star’s passage from Oaraavu last night a Chinaman jumped overboard. A boat was immediately lowered but he sank before tbc spot was reached.
