THE CO-OPERATIVE MOVEMENT

' A largely attended meeting of the committee of the Association took place this afternoon at the Grosvenor Hotel. . Mr Postlethwaite occupied the chair, and briefly addressed the meeting. Mr Bracishaw spoke at some length. He thought Mr Thornhill Cooper’s suggestions could hardly be improved upon. He would propose— “ That Huh Ho. 1, as suggested by Mr Thornhill Cooper that the capital of the Society be £25.000, &c., be adhered to.” The proposal was seconded by Mr Dawson and carried. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Campbell seconded by Mr Lee—“ That a sub-committee be appointed to consider the rules and report on the same at an adjourned meeting of the Committee.” _ The snb-committee was then appointed, consisting of Messrs Bradshaw Postlethwaite, Cooper, Kellar, Goodison, Campbell, Badham, Buckle, and Talbot, and arranged to meet immediately on the termination of the Committee meeting, to settle preliminaries. The Committee meeting then adjourned until this day fortnight,
