NEW ZEALAND AND VICTORIAN LIBERALS.
MUTUAL CONGRATULATIONS. [By Tei.egkai’H.] Wellington, July 24. The following is the telegram sent by 38 members of the Liberal party to the Hon Mr Graham Berry : —“ The undersigned members of the Liberal party in the House of Representatives, New Zealand, desire to convey their hearty congratulations to the people of Victoria on the result of the elections on Wednesday; and trust that the Liberals may- now be able to secure means of reform, which will, in all respects, prove satisfactory to the people of Victoria, and of lasting benefit to that great and prosperous community.'’ The following reply was cabled : Melbourne, July 23. “ To J. C- Brown, Esq. Wellington, “ Many thanks for your welcome telegram. I believe the Liberal party here are are strong enough to settle Constitutional reform. I trust before long to have occasion to return your congratulations, with respect to events in New Zealand. The party authorise me to sign on their behalf. Graham Berry, Melbourne.
