John Young Ward, of Ashburton, bookseller, was charged on the information of his wife, Caroline Matilda Ward, with deserting her and her children, and neglecting to contribute to their support. The defendant did not appear. Mr "White appeared on behalf of the complainant, and applied for an adjournment. The case was adjourned accordingly until Aug. I.
