WALKING MATCH.
SECOND EDITION
There was a good attendance at the Queen's Hall last evening at the match between John Lowry and Duncan McKay, Hoth men started together, McKay starting half a lap a head of his opponent. Lawiy look the lead in the tenth lap, and increased it throughout the rest of the race, passing his opponent for a second time in the 81th lap. Then McKay surrendered. The Handicap brought six men to the post, and these were balloted olf in couples. The following is the result ; .I'l It ST HEAT. ■ Clarke (scratch) ... ... 1 Hlakc (25yds) 1 This was a very good race, and won by Clarke in 7miu. ob'see. SECOND It EAT. Lowry (scratch) 1 McKnight (80yds) ... 3 Won easily. TIIIKD HEAT. Scarf (yOyda) J Cameron (scratch) 0 This was the race of the evening, and Cameron's walking was general commented on as being the most honest style displayed during the evening. In the bind event Clarke, Lawiy, and Scarf met, and after a thoroughly plucky tussle for victory landed as follows: Clarke 1 Lawiy ... ... ... 2 Scarf 8 Time—7min. 52socs.
