Rrett moved the appointment of a .Select Committee to inquire into the late volunteer outrages, and in doing - so impugned the military competence of Colonel Stavely and the education of Captain Smith. The motion was withdrawn on the understanding that the. Defence Minister would attend to the matter. The rest of the business was unimportant.
