Every company, including banking and insurance companies, carrying on business in New Zealand at tire commencement of this Act shall at all times be represented by a person residing in the colony ; and a place within the colony shall be appointed from time to time by every such company as aforesaid at which any notices or other instruments affecting the company under this Act may be served or delivered. (1.) Such person shall be called the “ Public Officer” of the company for the purposes of this Act, and shall be appointed as follows : {a.)
