S. C. Times Office. Monday Evening. Messrs Jonas, Hart and Wildic report for the past week as follows: — Fat Cattle—The market is well supplied and prices arc unaltered. Store Cattle—ln better enquiry. At a sale of GO head at Pleasant Point on Thursday the following prices were obtained: —Steers and heifers, 18 months to 2 years, £3 15s to £1 ss; heifers, 2 years old and in calf, from £0 17s fid to £7 10s; cows, in milk and springing 1 , from £7 15s to £8 Is yearlings, from £1 10s to £llss. Sheep—At the sale above mentioned we sold a small mob of merino ewes in fair condition, at 5s 6d per head. Horses—There is literally no demand, consequently every description is dull of sale. We quote staunch heavy draughts from £33 to £42; medium do, £22 to £3O; light do, £ls to £2(5. Farm Produce—Our regular sale was well attended. A large quantity changed hands at the following rates;—Butter, lOd per lb; cheese, 6Jd to 7d per lb; mutton hams, 5d per tea 15s to 18s per box; sugar, lid per lb; potatoes, £2 5s to £2 15s per ton; onions, Id per lb; Hour, £lO per ton; sharps, (is (id per bag; bran, 3s (id per bag ; fowls, 3s to 3s (id per couple; pigs, 21s to 30s each. Sheepskins —At our weekly sale a large quantity of skins were catalogued, and realised the following rates, viz.: —Crossbreds (heavy), 3s sd, 3s (id, 3s Bd, 3s lOd, 4s and 5s ; medium do, 2s 2d, 2s 4d, 2s fid to 3s ; merinos, Is 9d, 2s Id, 2s 4d to 3 s; hides, 3d per lb.

Messrs W. Collins ami Co., report moving off large quantities of produce privately. At their sale on Saturday, the attendance was considerably' above the general average and as a result every line submitted to the hammer found buyers at the following figures, which, taken all round, must be satisfactory to the farmers : —Derwent potatoes, 46s to 60s per ton (early seed arc beginning to be enquired for, and no doubt some sales will be effected during the week, when we will quote) ; farmers’ Hour, £0 ; bran, 60s ; sharps, 80s per ton ; onions, none offering, good samples are worth £8 per ton ; hams, 8d ; bacon, 7.1 d ; lard, 6d ; mutton hams, od ; pork in the carcase, old to Od : a line of Akaroa cheese was quitted at 41d to old per lb; butter, lOd to lid per lb; Hobart Town jams, K.D., Os Od per dozen ; oats, Is 3d per bushel; fowl wheat, os to (is per sack ; barley, 4s to os; fowls, Os Od to 6s per couple ; ducks, 4s to 4s Od per pair; geese and turkeys, none in the rooms; fruit trees, apples and walnuts only', from the celebrated Sydenham nurseries, consigned to us by Mr A. Bennett, were sold during the day. Taking into consideration the quality of the trees, they did not bring near their value. The following are the prices obtained: —Walnut trees, (is Od each ; apple, Is to Is 3d each, which were nil bought b.y four persons. Furniture, linen, and a general assortment of useful sundries were quitted at good rates.

Messrs Macklcy, I’ricst and Co. report having held their usual weekly sale of farm produce, fruit, fruit and forest trees, sundries, etc., to-day, when they had a numerous attendance, and nearly every line offered found purchasers, at the following rates:— Trees —Apple, pear and plum, at Gs to 12s per dozen ; cuprcssus macrocarpa, from scl to Gd each ; pinus insignia, Gd each ; other shrubs at satisfactory prices. Fruit in case Apples, from 7s Gd to 10s Gd per case; pears, 6s to 8s per case. Farm produce—Hams and bacon (green), Gd to 8d per lb ; cheese, inferior, 4.1 cl per lb ; potatoes, Is per sack; bran, 4s Gd per sack ; fowl wheat, Gs Gd to 8s Gd per sack ; Hour lit) 10s per ton; onions, Id per lb ; carrots, 80s per ton ; sundries, satisfactory prices. . Chaff, ;£5; oatmeal, £9; pollard, £5; bran, £8 10; flour, £l2 ; oats remain at about Is lOd; chick wheat,2s lOd to Gs; ryegrasses; cocksfoot, Id; peas 4s; carrots, 3s per sack; potatoes, 45s to 47s Gd.
