PEDESTRIANISM.
O’Connor, the champion .seven mile walker, started his twelve hours’ trial walk at JO.Jo a.m. to-day, and had completed 2J miles by J.JO p.m., averaging a mile in ton minutes. O’Connor is accompanied on the track by his brother. The attendance will probably be very large this evening. The champion leaves Timarn for Dunedin very shortly to compote in the walking competition to he held there next month.
