Stansell, PROGRAMME Start at 1 p.m.— Tally-Ho Handicap, of 100 sovs. ; nomination, 2 soys, acceptance, 2 soys, with a sweep of 5 sovs each for starters, amount accruing from sweep to go to second horse; distance, about 3 miles. 2 p.m.—Maiden Steeplechase, of 10 soys ; nomination, 2 soys ; weight for age ; distance, about 2$ miles. 3 p.m.—Txmaru Steeplechase Cup Handicap, of 50 sovs; nomination 1 sov, acceptance 1 sov, with a sweep of 2 sovs each for starters, amount accruing from sweep to go to the second hoise ; weights to appear after the Tally-Ho has been run for; acceptance after the Maiden has been run ; distance, about about 24 miles. 4 p.m.— Consolation Handicap, of 30 sovs ; post entries. 2 sovs ; distance, about 2 miles.
RULES AMD REGULATIONS. Nominations for the Tally-Ho Hand’cap not later than Friday, June Ith, 18S0, at 8 p.m. Weights for Tally-Fo Handicap, Saturday, June 12. Acceptances and General Entries, Tuesday, June 15, at 8 p.m. All entries and acceptances must he in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary. Grosvcnor Hotel, Timaru, and contain entrance money, sweepstake, qualification fee, description, age and name of horse, and colors to be worn by the jock 03’. Qualification fee to be enclosed with the nomination, or the nomination will be invalid. In all Races, horses to qualify by jumping hurdle past judge’s bos. The revised N.Z. Grand National Rules will be adhered to. No person to enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of 1 sov to the fund, and no person to nominate unless both owner ana nominator be subscribers of the same amount. In the event of any person entering a protest, the sum of £2 2s must bo lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered, the sum to be forfeited to the fund should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. The decision of the Stewards to be final in all cases. Five per cent will be deducted from the gross of all monies paid in accordance with the programme, tor expenses; and when not otherwise specified, all entries and acceptances to go to the fund. J. R. PUBLIC NOTICE. “PROPERTY ASSESSMENT ACT, 1879.” DISTRICT OF WAITAKI. IN accordance wiih section 30 of the above Act, the Property Tax Commissioner hereby gives public notice that the 30th clay of June next is the time, and the Town of' Timaru is the place, at which all persons in the District of Waitaki are required to furnish Statements of all Real and Personal Property belonging to them, in accordance with the said Act.
