Frank Fowler, a native of the Pbillipine Islands, was charged on remand with having, on May Id, at Teimika, criminally assaulted a child aged IG, named Mary Kant. Inspector Pender appeared for the prosecution. The evidence showed that on the day in question the accused went to the residence of the girl’s parents, during the temporary absence of Urn latter, on pretence of borrowing a hammer. Tl ic girl, who is of weak intellect; and subject to epileptic iits, subsequently complained to her father that she had been assaulted, and the medical evidence wont to show that the offence had been committed.
