THE BLENHEIM RAILWAY.
The opening of the railway into Blenheim was celebrated yesterday by a public luncheon given by the Mayor and Councillors of Blenheim. Among the guests were Mr A. P. Seymour and Captain Kenny, M.H.R’s. The former made a congratulatory speech, in which he defended the course he had pursued in Parliament, ■ contended that the followers of Sir George Grey had collapsed through deposing their leader, and submitted that the present Government had passed measures of electoral reform which the Grey Ministry had wasted two years over, and that they were now trying to got the colony out of its financial difficulties.
