MELBOURNE PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs J. H. Clough and Co., report, I Under date — May 2, as follows: — . Wheat maintains its last week’s value of , 4s 4d as deliveries by rail are light, and ' millers’, wants are but barely supplied, while ' the rise of 6d per quarter in London telegraphed to-day naturally tends to check any downward tendency that might otherwise bo apparent. At our weekly sale this day-we catalogued and sold 4281 bags wheat '' at prices ranging from 3s 9d to 4s 4d according to quality and we quote—Smutty and inferior, 2s 6d to 8s 6d; medium to good, 3slid to 4s 3d; milling and shipping to 4s 4d. ; I Barley.,—Complete stagnation cliarncterises this article, and sales can only be ' .made at large concessions. Feeding is worth fr.om 2s to 2s 4d, and malting is extremely slow at 4s 3d. Oats. —An easier feeling has prevailed since last week, but the high rates ruling for maize should counteract any tendency to lower rates. ’ We quote low qualities Is 8d to Is lOd, medium to good Feed Is lid to 2s 2d, Prime up to 2s 4Jd and Milling 2s 4d to 2s 6d. We sold 480 bags to-day at from 2s to 2s 3£d, the offerings consisting chiefly . of medium qualities. Rato of freight to London, 50s to 57s 6d per ton.
