ACCIDENT TO MR A. PERRY.
SECOND EDITION
A gunshot accident occurred to Mr Arthur Perry, of the firm of Perry and Perry solicitors, on Friday afternoon. In company with Mr Godby and two or three other gentlemen, Mr Perry proceeded to the Seadown estate on a shooting expedition The party surrounded a swamp where it was believed a quantity of swamp hens would be found, and instructions were given not to lire until the birds took wing. Just as the birds were rising Mr Godby took aim and fired, and Mr Perry, who was concealed among the reeds, received a considerable portion of the charge on his right side. His back was turned to Mr Godby, and the smoke of the shot simply grazed his face and elbow. A few of the pellets, however, entered the flesh and some of these have not yet been extracted. Mr Perry fell on being wounded, and at first it was thought he was seriously injured. He was carried to his residence and Dr Hogg was promptly called in, but the wounds were pronounced to bo in no case serious. He is now progressing favorably.
