The steamers Manawatu and Patea, about which anxiety existed owing to their non-arrival, have arrived in safety at . their respective destination this morning. They had taken shelter from the recent westerly gales. Another Match-box. Dunedin, May 22. _ 1 An eight-roomed wooden house in Forth street was burned down early this morning. It was owned by E. Wilson,and occupied by Mrs Thomas,a widow. The house was insured for £7OO in the National, and the furniture for £SOO in the North British. fobbing au Emigrant. At the Port Chalmers Police Court Henry Kylreend, was committed for trial for stealing jewellery valued at £69 10s from Joseph Manderston a passenger per Te Anau.
