THE TWO THOUSAND GUINEAS.

The following is the result of the race run yesterday for the Two Thousand Guineas Stakes, a sweepstake of 10) guineas each, h ft. for three-year-olds : colts, Bst lOlb ; fillies, Bst 51b. Second horse to receive 200 sovs from the stake ; third horse to save his stake, liowley mile (one mile 17 yards.) Duke of Beaufort’s b c Petronel, by Musket 1 Duke of Westminster’s ch c Muncastcr, by Doncaster—Windrmere ... ... ... ... 2 Mr B. C. Naylor’s b c Abbot, by Hermit—Barchcttina 3 Last year Petronel ran for the Middle Park Plate, but was not placed. Abbot ran third in the Epsom Woodcotc Stakes, being beaten by Sabella and Prestonpans. Musket, the sire of Petronel, is a well-known horse, and is now in the possession of the Auckland Stud Company, who were offered a very long price for him a short time ago by an Australian breeder.
