[By Tki.kgkai’ii.] [Per Zealandia at Auckland.] NEW SOUTH WALES. A nolilication by the governor of New South Wales cancels the reward offered for the capture of (ice Kellys at the cud of three mouths, but continues the pension for wives and children of men killed or injured iu attempting to capture bushrangers. A letter has been received confirming the cable news that the late Mr Clialis bequeathed £IOO,OOO to the University of Sydney. Two lives will intervene before the sum is available, viz., that of Mrs Clialis and Mr Clialis’ sister, VICTORIA. On the 21st inst., at 20 minutes to one o’clock in the morning, a lire broke out next to the Theatre Royal, on premises occupied by Mrs Sutton, a mil-
liner and dressmaker. The damage done amounted to £3OO to £BOO.
Mr Cuthbcrt has signified his approval of the mutual agreement between Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne, regarding the reduction in the intercolonial press messages from 8s 0d to os per 100 words. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. The sentence of imprisonment for life passed on John Diffiey, for the manslaughter of his wife in December, 1876, has been remitted on the ground that well-founded jealously instigated the crime.
