S. C. Times Office, Saturday Evening. Large quantities of wheat are coining forward and the local mills arc kept briskly employed. Latest news from London shews' that the price of colonial grain is fairly maintained, and this has imparted a firm tone to the market. Good milling samples realise 3s Od to 3s lid, and medium quality is quoted at 3s 7d to 3s Bd. Barley is dull, and most of this grain is being forwarded to other markets. Hie same remark will apply to oats which are quoted nominally at Is 3d to Is sd, in this market although'they arc fetching in Auckland, 2s to 2s Id. Should this state of things continue, large quantities must find their way from the grower’s hands up North. Drxmn.v, April 23. Auee.uhe, April 23. Adelaide wheat, 4s 2d to Is 3d per bushel; Adelaide flour, £lO 10s per ton, market depressed. Freights from Adelaide to London, 40s to 42s 6d, depressed. Ciniis i cinnicn, 'Phis Day. For a line of wheat, a good sample, 3s Od, f.0.b., was offered, but the transaction was not closed. Shipping is very scarce. One lot of barley, 700 bushels, a very prime sample, changed hands, delivered in Christchurch, at 4s. Similar samples arc very scarce. There are no transactions in oats, which are quoted at Is 3d to Is od. Cocksfoot is being enquired for this moruing at 2.U1 per lb. Nothing whatever is doing in rye grass. Cornsncks are very scarce, and arc quoted at 0s Gd per doHolders decline to sell, as they have not sufficient for their own requirements, and orders for several lots have been sent out of the colonics.
